Ecommerce market is growing on day to day basis, we are witnessing the biggest market in the history with billions and billions dollars are flowing in them, it will surely increase in future.
The news coming from Russia is that the Ecommerce market in the country expanded by 26% year-on-year to RUB 72 5 billion (USD 11 billion) in the first half of 2019, Vedomosti daily has reported citing a report by Data Insight.
The data shows that the number of purchases online was 191 million in the reporting period, up by 44%. The largest online retailers accounted for most of the growth: Wildberries almost doubling its orders to 61 million and accounting for around every third online purchase in Russia.
Data Insight notes that the growth of large-scale platforms has not yet out of balance the business of smaller companies, as the other 500 largest retailers increased orders on average by 21%, with the rate of increase of 14% in 2018 accelerating.
Moreover, the number of online shoppers that make more than 15 purchases annually increased by 25%, while bundling products from 3-4 different categories also increased. However, the average online ticket size declined by 14% to RUB 3,790.
